STATE SUPPORTED LIVING CENTER HOSTS MEET AND GREET TODAY

  

The Brenham State Supported Living Center is hosting a meet and greet today for residents to meet the new Director of the school.

The Volunteer Services Council, the campus Family Association and the Washington County Chamber of Commerce Task force to Preserve the Brenham State Supported Living Center encourage the community, campus staff, and parents and family of the residents to come welcome Mr. Benoit and his family this evening from 4:30 – 6:00PM at the Chapel on the Brenham State Supported Living Center Campus.  Attenders will also be joined by Senator Lois Kolkhorst as well as she welcomes the new Director to the area.

Mr. Benoit started his new position on July 11th. He has worked in the field of intellectual and developmental disabilities for more than 19 years, with most of his experience in state-operated intermediate care facilities (ICFs) in Louisiana and Washington State. He started his career in the field performing direct support duties and later moved into roles such as direct support staff supervisor, case manager, case manager supervisor, and serious incident investigator.  After receiving his Master’s degree in health care management from the University of New Orleans, Benoit served in various senior-level executive management roles within state-operated facilities. He is well-versed on ICF regulations and has worked on a variety of regulatory issues
