SUPER TUESDAY IS HERE: TWO LOCAL RACES ON BALLOT

  

Voters in Washington County are headed to the ballots today for the Super Tuesday primaries.

In addition to the national and state-wide races voters will be casting ballots in two local races: Republican nominee for Precinct-One County Commissioner and Precinct-Four Constable.

Incumbent Precinct-one County Commissioner Zeb Heckmann faces a challenge from fellow Republicans, Marcia Shelton and Don Koester.  The winner will face Democrat Lewis Houser in the November general election.

Precinct-four incumbent Constable Mark W. Kramer will face challenger Lee Auguston in the Republican Primary.  No Democrats have filed for the post.

Over 3,300 people cast early ballots in the primaries.

The 3,345 early votes represents 16% of Washington County’s registered voters, with 2,921 ballots cast in the Republican primary and 424 on the Democratic side.

Voting will take place today (Tuesday) from 7 a.m.-7 p.m. at 15 polling sites:

Precinct 101 — Friedens United Church of Christ activity center, 20322 FM 1155, Washington.

Precincts 104, 117 and 121 — Washington County Events Center, county fairgrounds, 1305 E. Blue Bell Road.

Precinct 109 — St. Matthew Lutheran educational building, 8819 FM 2621.

Precinct 115 — Silver Wings Ballroom, 4100 Highway 105.

Precinct 203 — Chappell Hill Volunteer Fire Department, 5295 Main St., Chappell Hill.

Precinct 205 — VFW Hall, 1200 E. Tom Green, Brenham.

Precincts 208 and 202 — Salem Lutheran Church, 1500 Salem Road.

Precincts 307 and 316 — American Legion Hall, 903 N. Park, Brenham.

Precinct 311 — Sons of Hermann Hall in Gay Hill, 1100 FM 390 West.

Precinct 312 — St. John Lutheran Church in Prairie Hill, 6605 Old Independence Road.

Precinct 320 — Berlin-Mill Creek-Zionsville Volunteer Fire Department, 101 Lillie Lange Road.

Precincts 406, 418 and 419 — Blinn College Student Center, 1007 Walter Schwartz Way.

Precinct 410 — Burton Community Hall, 13100 W. Washington St., Burton.

Precinct 413 — Emmanuel Lutheran Church in Greenville, 6700 Wickel Road.

Precinct 414 — Pleasant Grove United Methodist Church, 4950 FM 332.
