GROUNDBREAKING FOR PPE WEDNESDAY

  

Groundbreaking is Wednesday at the Brenham Business Park for a British based corporation that is locating a manufacturing plant to the city.

Clint Kolby, the project manager of the Brenham Economic Development Foundation says Precision Polymer Engineering chose Brenham over several other cities to construct a 30,000 square foot facility. Kolby says they will be manufacturing rubber seals primarily for the use for the oil  and gas industry.  He says it will eventually mean 60  well paying jobs in our area creating a significant boost to the local economy.

 

Kolby says PPE will employ 22 workers in the first year and expand after that.

This plant involves an $8.3 million capital improvement after five years with GSL Constructors investing $3.3 million in the industrial building.  .

The Brenham City Council created a tax reinvestment zone in January

The groundbreaking will be in the 3200 block of South Blue Bell Road off highway 290.
