HODDE CENTER TO HOST TWO ACSM CERTIFIED PERSONAL TRAINER WORKSHOPS

Blinn College’s A.W. Hodde, Jr. Technical Education Center is teaming with the American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM) to help current and aspiring personal trainers earn ACSM Certified Personal Trainer credentialing.

ACSM is offering two workshops at the Hodde Center to prepare students to earn their ACSM Certified Personal Trainer credentials, widely considered the gold standard in the industry.

The comprehensive three-day workshop will be held July 17-19, and provides participants the practical knowledge and skills they need to be top-notch trainers in today’s evolving fitness industry. This workshop provides state-of-the-art information in the exercise sciences, including updated ACSM and industry guidelines, as well as behavioral objectives, dimensions of wellness and more.

The $375 workshop takes place from 1-9:30 p.m. Friday, July 17, 8 a.m. – 5:30 p.m. Saturday, July 18, and 9 a.m. – 4 p.m. Sunday, July 19.

The one-day workshop is designed for currently- and previously-certified personal trainers who feel confident in their basic knowledge of exercise physiology, anatomy and kinesiology. This program provides the specific knowledge necessary to succeed in attaining the ACSM Certified Personal Trainer credentialing, providing participants the opportunity to review, practice and prepare. This $129 workshop takes place from 9 a.m. – 4 p.m. July 19.

To prepare for the credentialing exam, ACSM recommends three textbooks, available at http://www.fitnessednet.com/cpt-textbooks.html.

To register, visit www.acsm.org or call 800-486-5643 by July 9.

Founded in 1954, ACSM was the first organization to certify health fitness professionals and includes more than 50,000 members and certified professionals in its ranks. ACSM Certified Personal Trainers have demonstrated their ability to develop and implement safe, effective exercise programs and modify them to meet the specific needs of clients.
