17-YEAR OLD ARRESTED IN TRAFFIC STOP

A 17-year old from Brenham faces charges after police investigate a suspicious vehicle, Saturday night.
Saturday, around 11 p.m., Officer Ashley Burns responded to the 1100 block of Schumacher in reference to a suspicious vehicle.
Burns says when she made contact with the occupants, two 16-year-old juveniles and one adult, she did she could smell marijuana.
During a search both marijuana and a bowie knife were located in the car.
17-year old Anthony William Lopez was charged with possession of Marijuana.
The two juveniles were released to their parents custody.

Marijuana is illegal so possessing it leads to arrest. Also Marijuana has been proven in numerous clinical studies to be dangerous and causes injury to the brain and other systems in the body. Additionally Marijuana is considered a gateway drugs to harder drugs like meth, etc. It needs to remain illegal!
If it’s “dangerous”, then please enlighten me on why over half of the states have it available for medical purposes? Also, it doesn’t actually cause brain damage, so just keep believing in all the propaganda you see. You do ALSO realize that nobody has ever died from marijuana use, right?
Yall are worried about marijuana ? Really why don’t yall go mess with meth heads a little pot never hurt anyone meth destroys people and ruins lifes and on top of that it raises the crime rate because there so doped up they rob people for stuff to pay for there addiction

If only the State of Texas would legalize marijuana for medical purposes and in small amounts for recreational use. Growers could be monitored for quality and everyone could be taxed from user to grower to help pay for the monitoring. Meth is the drug we should be after as it can cause brain damage and heroin and legal drugs sold illegally are a major problem. We tried prohibition and that didn’t work so those of you for whom alcohol is your drug of choicer have to pay taxes on alcohol.. You might also think about all of the Americans who are on legal drugs and drive under their influence. I personally am more concerned about a drunk driver on the road than someone using pot, although, ideally, no drivers would be under the influence of any mind altering drugs would be the ideal.
It doesn’t matter — if pot was legal it would still be illegal for minors to have it. For the record, I’ll just say that my opinion on the legal status of marijuana is this: If marijuana is outlawed, then so should be alcohol and tobacco. Both alcohol and tobacco are proven killers, marijuana has never harmed anyone. If you want to raise the issue of legalizing marijuana, you should be raising the issue of the legality of alcohol and tobacco. Tobacco contains a narcotic, it is physically addicting. It causes disease, cancer and death. It is a drain on our society. Alcohol is physically addicting. It causes disease and death, and is a major factor in the cause of numerous accidents that kill both the users and innocent victims. Marijuana on the other hand, for all of the research that has been done on it, has never been found to be dangerous or even debilitating. It has only been found to have numerous medical benefits in many different applications.
Don’t compare marijuana to meth and other dangerous drugs, you are only associating them in a manner which puts you on the defensive. Instead, highlight how it is benign, especially when compared to legal substances which are dangerous. Demand that THESE substances be outlawed. Of course that will never happen due to the strength of both industries’ lobby, and the issue of lost tax revenue. Instead of defending marijuana, go on the offensive and force the authorities to defend the legal status of these known killers.
