BRENHAM CITY COUNCIL TO DISCUSS CONTRACTS ON STORM DAMAGE REPAIRS

The Brenham City Council will consider a number of engineering services agreements for storm repairs during their meeting on Thursday.

Widespread flooding caused damage to a variety of the city’s infrastructure. Professional services agreements to be considered include:

  • O’Malley Strand Associates, Inc. in the amount, not to exceed, of $287,356 for repairs to various city infrastructure improvements at multiple locations
  • O’Malley Strand Associates, Inc. in the amount, not to exceed, of $52,300 for repairs to the Munz Lift Station
  • O’Malley Strand Associates, Inc. in the amount, not to exceed of $34,150 repairs to the Lake Line at Big Sandy Creek
  •  Gunda Corporation, LLC. in the amount, not to exceed, of $295,841 for repairs to various city infrastructure improvements at multiple locations

The council will also discuss bids for fabrication and installation of wayfinding signage. Members of the city staff are recommending the rejection of the only bid received because bad weather delayed three other bids.

The project had a submission deadline of 10:30 a.m. on February 14th. At least two of the bidders attempted to submit bids, but were delayed by weather and missed the deadline.

Also on the agenda for Thursday:

  • A public hearing on the proposed annexation of approximately 87 acres of land along the Highway 36 loop- from Dixie Road to near the U.S. 290 cloverleaf
  • Certifying that there are no contested races for the Brenham City Council and canceling the May 6th election
  • Considering an addendum to the contract with towing companies to participate in the city’s rotation log for non-consent tows
  • Discussing a noise variance request from Jesus Christ is the Answer Church for a gathering on March 24th at Fireman’s Park
