MASONS OF TEXAS CELEBRATE BLINN’S NEW KRUSE CENTER

Masons from across the State of Texas joined Blinn College to celebrate the Kruse Center on Tuesday, June  13, with a cornerstone leveling ceremony conducted by Graham Masonic Lodge #20.

Due to weather, the ceremony was held in the Blinn College-Brenham Campus Student Center. The Kruse Center is currently under construction on the Blinn-Brenham Campus, and will be 36,000 square feet when complete. It will include space for general fitness, dance and yoga, kinesiology, weightlifting, fitness classes, multipurpose rooms, student organization meetings, and more.

In addition, the Center will feature a gymnasium to host Buccaneer volleyball and basketball games as well as high school playoff games and will host summer camps to increase campus activity in the summer months.

“This first-class facility will add vibrance and energy to Blinn’s campus community, helping to recruit and retain the high-achieving students who are the lifeblood of this institution,” said Dr. Mary Hensley, District President/CEO.

The facility was made possible through a generous gift from the Kruse family. Siblings Mildred Kruse Bridges, Evelyn Ann Kruse, the late Ed. Kruse and his wife Evelyn, and Howard Kruse and his wife Verlin established the gift in memory of their parents, E.F. and Bertha Kruse.
