FIFTH ANNUAL SMALL BUSINESS FORUM JUNE 12TH

Tickets are on sale now for the Fifth Annual Small Business Forum set for Tuesday, June 12th at the Fireman’s Training Center in Brenham.

Co-hosted by the Washington County, Navasota-Grimes County and Burleson County chambers, small business owners and managers will hear from several powerful speakers dealing with issues important to small businesses.  Sponsored by Baylor Scott & White Medical Center, Bluebonnet Electric Cooperative, Brenham National Bank and Citizens State Bank, this annual forum provides a local opportunity to gain leading-edge knowledge and professional contacts to help businesses thrive.

The highlight of the event will be the presentation of the Small Business of the Year Awards for 2018.  Last year the honor was awarded to Independence Coffee and Del Sol Food Company. The keynote speaker during the luncheon will be Jeff Tobaben, CEO and Founding Partner of Evolve Performance Group. Tobaben devotes his time, expertise and unique approach to architect solutions that drive improved workplace conditions, reduced turnover, employee engagement, strengthened customer relationships, and sustainable financial performance.

Other speakers include Matt Prochaska, President and CEO of Research Valley Partnership, the economic development team serving Brazos County, the City of Bryan, the City of College Station, and the Brazos Valley. Congressman Kevin Brady’s office will speak on the new tax law changes and how that will impact small businesses. Representative Brady authored and pushed through the recent changes which include deductions for capital improvements and a 20% tax rebate on the first $300,000 of income.
