BURTON BOARD OF TRUSTEES ADDS PRE-K POSITION
Burton ISD trustees added another pre-kindergarten position at Monday’s board meeting.
After executive session, the additional position was decided upon. Burton Elementary Principal Melinda Fuchs reported at a previous meeting that she expects 24 pre-K students for the upcoming school year.
The board met in executive session for around four hours—part of which with an attorney regarding pending matters—before returning to discuss the duties and discipline of a public officer, as well as safety and security. Each item was tabled for further discussion.
Louise ISD Superintendent Dr. Garth Oliver gave a presentation to the board over safety and security methods they use in that district. They discussed which items work for their district, such as cameras, doors, and other measures.
