MAN ARRESTED ON SEVERAL DRUG CHARGES IN BRENHAM

A man from Spring was taken into custody on multiple drug-related charges Thursday night.
At around 10:15 p.m., Washington County Deputy Fay Janes-Busse stopped a speeding vehicle near US Highway 290 West and Lillie Lange Road.
While talking with the driver, 23-year-old Alex Ramos, Janes-Busse discovered a strong odor of marijuana from inside the vehicle. Upon searching the vehicle, she found several small bags of marijuana, along with a handgun.
Ramos was taken into custody for the Possession of Marijuana and Unlawfully Carrying a Weapon. He was taken to the Washington County Jail, where he was then found to have Ecstasy tablets in his sock.
Ramos was additionally charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance, along with Prohibited Substance in a Detention Facility. Ramos is still in custody, with bonds at $18,000.
