HEMPSTEAD MAN SENTENCED TO PROBATION FOR FAMILY ASSAULT

A Hempstead man has plead guilty to assault against a family member.
36-year-old Rigoberto Ramirez-Diaz was sentenced on Thursday to five years’ probation for Assault of a Family Member Impeding Breath or Circulation, a Third Degree Felony occurring August 14th.
Ramirez-Diaz will also have to maintain no contact with the victim, perform 200 hours of community service, pay a $100 family violence fee and $50 crime stoppers fee, and undergo drug and alcohol evaluation and treatment.

Also pleading guilty was 44-year-old Victor Manuel Molina-Dorantes of Brenham. He was sentenced to six months in jail for Possession of a Controlled Substance, a State Jail Felony. He will also have to pay a $180 lab fee.
