WASHINGTON CO. COMMISSIONERS APPROVE DPS AGREEMENT

Washington County Commissioners approved an inter-local agreement with DPS covering case reports at today’s (Tuesday) meeting.

The agreement allows for the county secretary to access reports filed by DPS, including criminal case reports. Both the county and DPS have gone to a new reporting system, and this agreement lets the secretary have proper access.

Commissioner Kirk Hanath said this agreement essentially puts into wording what was already being done.

Commissioners also agreed to revise the job description of the county’s rural addressing and mapping coordinator. County Judge John Brieden said the current coordinator, Cheryl Lewehr, will soon be retiring after nearly 20 years.

Brieden said the work she performed does not reflect what the new coordinator will be asked to do, as the new position will be supervised by County Engineer Ross McCall, rather than the county judge. The position will have different responsibilities, upon the county moving into its planned new facilities.

Commissioners also approved appointment of three members to the Washington County Fairground Management Board. Effective January 1st, the newly appointed Stephen Scheffer, Luther Hueske, and Chris Kaminski will fill the Precinct 1, Precinct 2 and at-large positions, respectively.

The court also set its meeting dates through 2018, and into 2019. Commissioners will hold meetings on December 11th and 18th, and will receive monthly county reports on the 18th.

For 2019, the county will continue holding weekly meetings on Tuesday, designating the second Tuesday of each month as its regular meeting, and every other Tuesday as a special meeting.

Commissioners also approved two formal notices from Strand Associates, representing the Central Washington County Water Supply Corporation, for water line installations. The installations would take place on Lillie Lange Road, Lange Lake Road, Old Mill Creek Road, and Farmers Road.
