WASHINGTON CO. COMMISSIONERS ACCEPT OIL AND MINERAL BID PROPOSAL
Washington County Commissioners accepted an oil and mineral bid for over ten acres of county-owned land at their meeting today (Tuesday).
The lone bid, which was opened at last week’s commissioners meeting, was turned in by Eagle Valley Energy Partners, LLC for land in Precinct One.
County Attorney Renee Mueller said she has not reviewed the lease agreement, so commissioners decided to approve just the bid proposal, and not the lease agreement.
The term is for three years and a royalty of 25 percent. The delay rental is $60 per acre, or a total of $627 per year. The bonus is $1,100 per acre, or $11,500 per year.
Commissioners also heard a series of reports. In the monthly Road and Bridge report, County Engineer Ross McCall announced that Collier Construction has begun clearing the new Road and Bridge building site, and has started installing temporary fencing. The project has an anticipated completion date of November 16th.
Commissioners also heard monthly reports from the Sheriff’s Office, Information Technology, EMS, E-911, and Veterans Services Officer.
Also in court, commissioners approved the advertising of sealed bids for seal coating for the 2019-20 term. McCall stated the county will begin seeking bids on March 18th, and look to accept a bid on the 19th.
The court also approved a subdivision variance request for land fronting Highway 36 North in Precinct 3. McCall said the owner is looking to sell roughly 6.8 acres of land, out of a 31 acre tract.
