BRYAN MAN SENTENCED TO 25 YEARS FOR SEXUAL ASSAULT OF CHILD

A Brazos County man has been sentenced to 25 years in prison on a charge of Aggravated Sexual Assault of a Child.
27-year old Bobby Ray Smith, Jr. of Bryan entered a guilty plea in a Bryan courtroom, Thursday.
Smith was arrested last year, after the victim reported what happened to a family member.
The plea agreement was reached in cooperation with the victim’s family, who was present at the plea.
Smith must serve a minimum of half of his prison term before becoming eligible for parole. He must also register as a sex offender for the rest of his life.
