NAVASOTA MAN SENTENCED TO 10 YEARS FOR CAUSING FATAL CRASH
A Navasota man has been sentenced to 10 years in prison after he pleaded guilty to an intoxication manslaughter charge for a 2017 crash.
Daniel Herrera was reportedly going the wrong way on Highway 6 in the crash that claimed the life of 26-year old Bethany Shockey of Magnolia.
Grimes County Assistant District Attorney Courtney Cain says, "This case is another tragic reminder of the consequences of driving while intoxicated."
Intoxication Manslaughter is a second-degree felony with a penalty range of 2 to 20 years in prison. Herrera had no previous DWI arrests or felony convictions.
