Last Friday morning, at around 7 a.m., deputies stopped a vehicle traveling eastbound at a high rate of speed on Highway 290. Upon making contact with the vehicle’s occupants, deputies found a strong odor of marijuana coming from the vehicle.  After searching, they would find numerous individually wrapped packages of marijuana.

The passenger of the vehicle, 20-year-old Deandra Nichole Garcia of San Antonio, advised she had additional marijuana packages hidden on her person. After she was arrested and taken to the Washington County Jail, a staff member searched her person and found an additional ten plastic baggies holding marijuana.

A passenger, 18-year-old Gabriel Aron Moore of Round Rock, advised authorities that marijuana and a firearm were inside the vehicle, and took responsibility of both. Deputies found under two ounces of marijuana, a vape pen containing THC oil, and a Glock 19 pistol inside the vehicle.  A weapons check through Washington County dispatch confirmed the firearm was stolen from Brazos County.

Moore was arrested and taken to the Washington County Jail, where he was charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance, Possession of Marijuana, Theft of a Firearm, Unlawful Carrying of a Weapon, and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.
