From 6 to 7:30 p.m. on Thursday evenings, Mount Rose Missionary Baptist Church will provide transportation to the Brenham H-E-B.
Students will be picked up from their dormitory or campus apartment in a church van and taken to the store, where they will have about 45 minutes to shop. After students are finished shopping and return to the van, it will head back to the campus and drop them off.
Associate Minister Reverend Randy Wells said he and Reverend John D. Harris created the program as a way to further increase Mt. Rose’s services for students.
Rev. Wells said a central pick-up location for the shuttle was considered, but he wanted to make the program as accessible as possible.
Rev. Wells said the program will evolve over time, and student feedback is invited.
Students wanting a ride in the van Thursdays will need to call the church at 979-836-3021 by 6 p.m. the Wednesday beforehand.
