CUBETTES DROP HEART-BREAKER TO RATTLERS
A three-run sixth inning rally by the Brenham Cubettes was thwarted when Navasota scored a run in the top of the seventh for a 5-4 win at Alumni Field, Tuesday night.
The Cubettes, who trailed throughout the first five-and-a-half innings, tied the score in the sixth with a trio of runs.
Jenna Hardy’s rbi-single scored Kramer Eschete, to cut the Rattler lead to 5-3. Ella Pieper’s two-run double scored Maggie Hodde and Hardy to knot the score at 4-4. The Cubettes left runners at second and third as the inning ended, going to the seventh tied 4-4.
In the top of the seventh, Bri Weaver’s two-out single scored Mia Nunez with the go-ahead run and the Rattlers took a 5-4 lead into the Cubettes’ final at bat.
The Cubettes were able to get runners to second and third with one out after Kenley Mikolajchak walked and Eschete doubled. However, the runners would be stranded on base as the Rattler were able to get the final two outs.
The Cubettes will be back in action this Thursday-thru-Saturday at the Dripping Springs Tournament. Thursday, Brenham will face Frenship at 9:00 and Leander at 1:00 at Lake Travis. Friday, they take on Cedar Park at 11:00 and Fredricksburg at 3:00 at Dripping Springs Youth Fields. Saturday, the Cubettes face Vista Ridge at 9:00 and Pilot Point at 1:00 at DSYA.
