GAS PRICES DROPPING IN TEXAS AHEAD OF SPRING BREAK

  

Drivers heading out for Spring Break can look forward to lower gas prices as they hit the road.

According to numbers from the AAA Texas Weekend Gas Watch, the average price of a gallon of regular unleaded fuel is $2.08 statewide.  That price is five cents lower than this day last week, and 12 cents lower than this day last year.

In Brenham, the average price is $2.16 per gallon, with a low of $2.01 and a high of $2.40.

When surveying the major metropolitan areas in Texas, drivers in Midland are paying the most on average at $2.26 per gallon, while drivers in Sherman-Denison are paying the least at $1.96.

The national average price for a gallon of regular unleaded fuel comes out to $2.39, five cents cheaper than the price per gallon at this time last week and last year.
