SCHOOL LUNCHES HANDED OUT AT ALTON ELEMENTARY

Early Childhood Learning Center Principal Toni Schwartz hands cartons of milk to a happy recipient Tuesday.

Brenham School District employees were busy handing out school lunches in the drive through line Tuesday at Alton Elementary School.  The district is providing to-go lunches for students this week from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm at Alton.  They are also providing a sack breakfast for the next day and milk to drink.  Monday they handed out 217 lunches to students.  The lunches are available to anyone from age 1 to 18, as long as they are in the vehicle.  Reporters from Houston TV and The New York Times were also on hand Tuesday to talk with recipients to see how they are coping with the corona virus situation.

  1. A lot of the kids, that need the lunches are in the rural areas. Why don’t they get the bus drivers back and let them drive there routes and hand out meal to the kids on routes? Many of these kids can’t make it into town for the free meals and are more likely to go hungry during this time.

  2. Thank you BISD for all that you are doing for our kids throughout this crisis. We appreciate you! – #Ramirez Family KES
