Colton Joe Manning pled guilty this week to the first-degree felony murder of Jason Currie, who was shot and killed at a private deer camp in June of 2016.

According to a release from the Grimes County District Attorney’s Office, Currie’s body was reported missing to law enforcement by friends and family on June 25, 2016. After a three-week investigation, a partial skeleton of his body was found in a remote creek bed on July 13th.

The case also involved James Daniel "Danny" Green of Bedias, who was convicted last April of murder by a jury and sentenced to life in prison.

Manning is currently in the Grimes County Jail awaiting transfer to prison.
