BRENHAM ISD STAFF MEMBER SUSPECTED OF POTENTIAL COVID-19 EXPOSURE “NOT EXPOSED”

Brenham ISD has announced one of its employees who it said may have been exposed to COVID-19, leading to the suspension of its drive-thru meal sites, was in fact not exposed.

Tuesday, the district said in a release that an individual in the child nutrition department serving at the Alton Elementary School and Brenham High School meal delivery sites was under self-quarantine after potentially being exposed to the virus.  This (Thursday) morning, the district announced the employee was not exposed.

It was not made clear how the district determined the employee was not exposed, or if the employee is still under self-quarantine.  When asked those questions, Communications Director Jessica Johnston said “BISD staff members will continue to follow CDC guidelines”.

The district said, due to precautionary measures, its meal sites will remain closed while district officials work together with community partners on a new plan for food distribution moving forward.
