Washington County’s Local Health Authority says he believes community-spread cases of Covid-19 are slowing, locally.

Dr. William Loesch says that, while there is a “spike in positive cases due to a single source, the community-spread cases are slowing.”

As of Saturday morning, Washington County had 108 confirmed cases of Covid-19, with eleven total deaths from the virus and three people currently hospitalized.

State Senator Lois Kolkhorst confirmed Friday, the state had launched a Mobil Integrated Healthcare Unit to the Brenham Nursing and Rehabilitation Center to test all patients and staff, as well as assist with management of the facility.

The team will also make recommendations for the next steps in facility and patient care.

  1. All the cases listed by a Washington county AEMS are tagged “ community spread”. More cases per day than ever. Not enough testing from the get go. The county has no idea how many infected residents are spreading it because tests are still in short supply. People who are known to have been exposed to a certified case are not being tested until they show severe symptoms. And many tests show false results. Mandatory/ enforced masks is the only way to resume business safely.

    1. Who do you want tested?. The results are only good for that moment. Test today, negative, Tomorrow positive. Social Distancing and sanitary measures are the answer. All the people running around the county with no masks, not using sanitary wipes provided by retailers and getting to close to others is the issue. Mask wearing is a must to PROTECT me from your germs. Clorox wipes and Alcohol (91%) are your friends and my saving grace. Please protect the elders.
