CHAPPELL HILL HISTORICAL SOCIETY HOLDING “NO ATTENDANCE” FUNDRAISER FOR CANCELLED BLUEBONNET FESTIVAL

The Chappell Hill Historical Society invites the public to participate in its first—and ideally last—No Bluebonnet Festival “No Attendance” Fundraiser.

Following the cancellation of this year’s Bluebonnet Festival due to COVID-19, this event is asking participants to take part in the festival…from the comfort of their couch.  This fundraiser will allow “attendees” to avoid the troubles of figuring out what to wear, finding a parking space, or missing out on anything else they would rather be doing.

Dottie Schaer, whose idea it was for the fundraising event, said it was created to help recoup some of the funding raised by the festival, which she said is a huge economic driver for the historical society.

Donations to the fundraiser will help support the Chappell Hill Historical Society Museum, along with the historical society’s other buildings and historical sites.

Schaer said, while this event will certainly not replace the Bluebonnet Festival, she hopes it can be a source of happiness during these trying times.

Donations are 100 percent deductible as charitable contributions.  Sponsorship opportunities are available.  The fundraiser is active through May 14th.
