ROUND TOP DELAYS SESQUICENTENNIAL CELEBRATION TO 2021

  

 

The smallest incorporated town in Texas is pushing back its landmark anniversary celebration to next year.

The Round Top Sesquicentennial Committee has officially announced its plans for a 150th Anniversary Celebration on the town square has been reschedule for May 8th of next year.

Originally the even had been moved from this past May to August 1st, but that has now been moved back.

The all-day event will honor the heritage and founding of Round Top with community spirit, historical presentations, live music, local food, and family-friendly recreation.

There will also be historical home tours and presentations, live music on the town square and in the Festival Hill Concert Hall, a six-team Barbeque Cook off in which ticket holders will be able to taste and judge all entries, 1,000 birthday cupcakes and games.

In addition, a historical folio entitled “Round Top – Next Stop!” will be presented at the event.  The 48-page booklet, which is being compiled and written by author and Round Top resident Sally Reynolds, will highlight Round Top’s history and a collection of personal memories shared by local residents.
