WASHINGTON CO. PRECINCT TWO CONSTABLE CANDIDATE MEETS WITH COMMUNITY

George "Trey" Holleway III (center) chats with Washington County Precinct One Constable Ken Holle (left) and Precinct One Deputy Constable William Shepherd at a meet and greet in Chappell Hill Thursday.

The public had the opportunity Thursday to meet Washington County’s lone nominee for Precinct Two Constable for November’s election.

A crowd of around two dozen people gathered at the Rock Store in Chappell Hill to meet George “Trey” Holleway III and his wife, Laurie.

Holleway was nominated in August by the Washington County Republican Party to sit on the November ballot as the unopposed candidate for the constable position.

Holleway, a 1988 graduate of Brenham High School, says his goal upon taking office will be to study the community in order to better understand it and ultimately make it a safer place.

Holleway began his career in law enforcement in 1993 and served in several capacities across the state during his time with DPS, including highway patrol in Washington County from 1997-1999.

Before retiring as captain in the Criminal Investigations Division of DPS in Houston, Holleway organized and led task forces targeting criminal enterprises, child abductions, human trafficking, fugitive apprehension, and violent crime.  He has also served on the Governor’s Fugitive Apprehension Unit and the FBI Joint Terrorism Task Force.

Following his election, Holleway will be sworn into office in January, filling the position formerly held by Carroll “Butch” Faske, who died in May after serving as constable for 31 years.  The Precinct One Constable’s Office will continue to cover Precinct Two until the transition takes place.

  1. I’m very glad that KWHI came to the Meet and Greet. Over 50 people came and went during the 2 1/2 hour event and I’d like to thank the many volunteers that helped to make this happen. I know Trey Holleway will do a wonderful job for the citizens of Precinct 2.
