TWO HOSPITALIZED AFTER ACCIDENT ON HIGHWAY 290 NEAR BLUEBONNET HILLS SUBDIVISION

  

Two people were transported—one by helicopter—after a two-vehicle accident Saturday morning on Highway 290, next to the Bluebonnet Hills subdivision west of Chappell Hill.

First responders were called out just before 9:30 a.m. to 6000 Highway 290 East for a report of a transportation incident with entrapment.  Upon their arrival, they found an accident between a car and a truck, with the car flipped upside down.

Members of the Brenham Fire Department used cutters to remove the patient from inside the car that had flipped over.  The driver of the car was transported by Washington County EMS Air One to an area hospital, while the driver of the truck was taken by ambulance.

Firefighters used dry absorbent on the spill and blocked traffic at the scene.
