TWO CALDWELL MEN FACING NEW CHARGES IN COLLEGE STATION SHOOTING

Two Caldwell men who were arrested in connection to a shooting at a College Station apartment complex in November are now facing new charges.

Melvin Parker
(Brazos Co. Jail)

20-year-old Melvin Parker and 19-year-old Treyvon Scyrus were each booked into the Brazos County Jail November 30th on two counts of Deadly Conduct.  The charges stemmed from a shooting at the Landmark on Longmire apartments in the 2300 block of Longmire Drive.

According to police, Parker was at the apartments to visit a friend, but left to pick up Scyrus and another man from Caldwell after exchanging words with several residents.  Upon returning to the apartments, the three drove by and shot at the residents, who returned fire, hitting the third member of their group.  Investigators discovered bullet holes in the apartments and in vehicles in the parking lot that matched the weapons of Parker and Scyrus.

On Monday, police say investigators found a pistol hidden under the carpet in a vehicle the three were in the evening of the shooting.

Police have now charged Parker and Scyrus with Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon.  Parker faces an additional charge of Tampering with Evidence.

The two remain in the Brazos County Jail.  Bond is set at $200,000 for Parker and $180,000 for Scyrus.
