GRIMES, BRAZOS AND LEON COUNTIES AWARDED FEDERAL FUNDS

  

 

Grimes County is one of three area counties that have been awarded federal funds through the Department of Homeland Security/Federal Emergency Management Agency.

The funds were awarded under the Emergency Food and Shelter Program.

Grimes, Brazos and Leon counties have been chosen to receive the funds to supplement emergency food, rent/mortgage and shelter programs in the counties.

Grimes County will receive $9,171; Brazos County, $67,060; and, Leon County, $5,069.

Any organization working to cover a broad spectrum of the residents in these counties in the areas of emergency food, shelter, rent/mortgage and utility needs is invited to apply.

A meeting of the FEMA Emergency Food & Shelter Board will be held on January 22nd at 11:00 a.m. via a Zoom meeting. Those that apply will be sent an invitation link to join the meeting.
