BISD BOARD TO MEET MONDAY NIGHT

The Brenham School Board will try for a third time to hold their scheduled board meeting, this Monday night.

The meeting was originally set for last Monday, then rescheduled for Thursday, before it was postponed for a second time due to the weather.

Among the items on the agenda is approval of the district’s vision and mission statements, which were developed after a series of workshops held in late 2020.  Trustees will also potentially approve the replacement of the turf at Cub Stadium.

The board will also consider renewing a contract with ESC Region VI to provide the district’s internet service, as well as the purchase of an internet firewall.  Trustees will also look to move their March meeting date from Monday, March 22nd to Thursday, March 11th.

The board will also meet in executive session to discuss personnel matters, including the potential restructuring of district positions and the approval of assistant superintendent contracts.  The board will also undergo its annual self-appraisal.

In other items, the board will consider:

  • Consolidating May 1st polling locations.
  • Possible action regarding pre-bond planning services.
  • Approval to add Policy DCE (Local) Employment Practices – Other Types of Contracts.
  • Monthly informational reports.

The board will meet Monday evening at 6 p.m. in Rooms 111 and 113 at Brenham High School.  The meeting will be livestreamed on Brenham ISD’s YouTube channel.
