BARNHILL CENTER TO REOPEN WITH BOB WILLS’ TEXAS PLAYBOYS
The Barnhill Center at Historic Simon Theatre will reopen their stage on Friday May 28th to host Bob Wills’ Texas Playboys starring Jason Roberts. The 7pm show will start a busy new season of performances in 2021 that include:

Saturday August 14th - Lee Greenwood
Saturday September 4th - Asleep At The Wheel
Friday September 24th - Darden Smith Presents Aaron Barker and Allen Shamblin
Saturday October 9th - The Ultimate Johnny Cash Tribute by Bennie Wheels
Saturday October 23rd - The Quebe Sisters
Saturday November 13th - Darden Smith Presents Radney Foster
Friday December 3rd - Gary Morris Christmas
Saturday December 18th - Celtic Angels Christmas with The Celtic Knights Dancers
At the request of patrons, the Barnhill Center will be offering season tickets this year. Season ticket holders will be able to purchase their tickets a week ahead of single show tickets. Season ticket holders will also get to choose their favorite seats for the show. Season Tickets will go on sale Monday morning (May 3rd) at 10am.
Appropriate Coronavirus precautions will be in place, or not, depending on the Texas guidelines at the time of each show. Patrons can go to The Barnhill Center website or call the Box Office to learn the procedures in place before any specific show.

Brenham, Texas, April 23, 2021: The Barnhill Center at Historic Simon Theatre (TBC) will reopen on Friday May 28 to host Bob Wills’ Texas Playboys starring Jason Roberts. The 7pm show will start a busy new season of performances in 2021:

“At the request of our loyal patrons, we are offering Season Tickets this year,” said Jennifer Eckermann, Tourism and Marketing Director for the City of Brenham. “Now you can reserve your favorite seats in advance for all shows you wish to attend in 2021. Season Ticket holders will also enjoy lower prices when purchasing tickets for multiple shows at the same time.”
Season Tickets are offered in three price tiers to correspond with the number of shows purchased together. A minimum of four 2021 shows are required to reach the first discounted tier. Deeper discounts are available when purchasing tickets for more shows.
“Another advantage is an exclusive week to purchase Season Tickets before single-show tickets go on sale,” said Eckermann. “That up-front week enables Season Ticket holders to reserve the same seats throughout the season.”
Season Tickets will go on sale Monday morning at 10am. Single-show tickets will go on sale Monday, May 3rd at 10am.
“You get fast and easy service on our website, to learn about shows and buy tickets,” said Alexandra Dill, manager of The Barnhill Center Box Office. “However, Season Tickets for multiple (discounted) shows must be purchased by phone or in person.”
The fastest way to purchase Season Tickets:

(2) Make a list of shows desired for 2021.
(3) With your desired show list and payment information, call or go by The Barnhill Center Box Office.
(4) Get your purchased tickets at the Box Office or arrange for them to be mailed.

The city has made interesting choices for entertainment lineup.. It is a nice public facility for the city to provide entertainment. Health authorities outside the state have Covid numbers rising in Texas, so depending on the state to determine safety for citizens would be irresponsible. And given the fact that the city has a poverty rate of over 25% of its population which cannot afford these ticket prices, it doesn’t seem fair anyway. The majority of the poor rent their dwellings, and property taxes are part of that rent. And they use utilities. The facility rents spaces for gatherings for a pricey fee. But, I guess it nice for those who can afford it.
