BLINN COLLEGE WOMEN’S GOLF PLACES FOURTH AT TYLER TOURNAMENT

Holly Paterson leads Buccaneers with a two-day total of 166 for an eighth-place finish

The Blinn College women’s golf team placed fourth in the Tyler Junior College Fall Invitational held Monday and Tuesday at Pine Springs Golf Club in Tyler.
Blinn shot rounds of 341 and 355 to finish at 696, led by freshman Holly Paterson’s eighth-place finish. Paterson, a freshman from The Woodlands, had a two-day total of 166 (83 for both rounds).

“The ladies played well on day one. They have been working hard on their short game at practice and the improvement was noticeable,” head coach Dave Johnson said. “We struggled a bit on day two with some tee shots and approach shots. We’re confident they will continue to work and improve on those areas.”
Other two-day totals for Blinn were Madelyn Goad, 172; Katelyn Foster, 173; Yulisa Espinoza, 176; Alexis Graham, 186; and Leyah Wilson and Kennedy Settimi, 193.
The team will compete next in the Oklahoma Classic, which will is scheduled for Oct. 10-12 at Lawton Country Club.
