WASHINGTON-ON-THE-BRAZOS TO HOST ‘TOMBSTONE TRAIL’ SATURDAY
A new Halloween-themed event this weekend at Washington-on-the-Brazos invites guests to meet ghosts of the past.
The “Tombstone Trail” on Saturday will take visitors to the historic site on a lantern-lit walk through Old Washington, where they will interact with some of the local citizens of Washington-on-the-Brazos during the era of the Republic of Texas.
Once guests complete the “Tombstone Trail”, they can tour the Star of the Republic Museum by flashlight and enjoy hot cider and s’mores around the campfire at the Visitor’s Center.
Due to the nature of the subject matter, parental discretion is advised for guests under 8 years old. As the trail is outside on uneven terrain, the program is not designed for strollers, walkers and wheelchairs.
Adult tickets are $10.50 and student tickets are $5.50. Groups will be limited to 20 people per 15 minute time slots, starting at 6:30 p.m. and ending at 8:45 p.m.
Tickets are required and can be purchased at www.wheretexasbecametexas.org.
