NAVASOTA POLICE SEARCHING FOR SUSPECTS IN BANK ROBBERY

  

The Navasota Police Department is searching for suspects in connection to a bank robbery around noon today (Tuesday).

Navasota Police Chief Shawn Myatt says around 11:45 a.m., two Black males armed with pistols and wearing hoodies entered the PNC Bank in the 600 block of East Washington Avenue and took an undetermined amount of money.

The suspects fled in a black four-door sedan, believed to be either a Honda Accord or Honda Civic.  No one was injured during the robbery.

According to Myatt, a third person may have been involved as the driver of a getaway car, which was located in a small creek area behind the bank.

Brule Elementary School and the Navasota ISD Administration Building temporarily went into a “soft lockdown,” keeping students in their classrooms and not letting anyone in or out of school.  At 12:45 p.m., Navasota ISD received the “all-clear” from police and returned to normal operations.

The FBI is assisting police in their investigation.  Other responding agencies included units from the Grimes County Sheriff’s Office and DPS.
