THORNDALE ENDS BURTON’S SEASON WITH A 10-0 VICTORY

The season came to end for the Burton Panthers tonight (Friday) in Mumford as they fell to Thorndale 10-0 in five innings due to the mercy rule.

Thorndale scored in every inning starting with one in the first, four in the second, one each in the third and fourth, and then finishing it off with three in the fifth.

Kaiden Kalkhake took the loss, surrendering six runs in 2 1/3 innings. Bryson Biggs gave up one run in an inning of relief.  Thorndale scored the final three runs off of Carson Lauter in the fifth to secure the win and the 2-0 sweep in the Area Round.

The Burton offense, which had been potent for most of the season was held to just two hits, a single by Chet Fritsch and a single by Colby Beck.

Burton finishes the year with a 20-8 record.
