NAVASOTA POLICE MAKE DRUG BUST ON SATURDAY NIGHT
A Navasota man was taken into custody on Saturday night after a drug related arrest.
Navasota Police reported that officers were patrolling around 8:15pm, when they discovered a vehicle with several equipment violations.
Police stopped the driver, 45-year-old Kenneth Wilkerson of Navasota, in the 300 block of Blackshear Street.
During their investigation, officers observed signs that led to them deciding to call in a K-9 unit.
A Grimes County Sheriff’s Deputy and his K-9 officer arrived on the scene, where the dog alerted officers to the presence of narcotics inside the vehicle.
A search of Wilkerson’s vehicle led to the discovery of cocaine, pills, baggies, a scale, and U.S. currency.
Wilkerson was arrested and taken to the Grimes County Jail.
He was charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance in Penalty Group I less than a gram, and Possession of a Controlled Substance in Penalty Group III less than 28 grams.
