WALLER MAN INDICTED FOR RAMMING TRUCK INTO FBI GATE
A Waller man has been charged after the U.S. Attorney’s Office claims he rammed his truck and trailer into the gate of the FBI field office in Houston.
43-year-old Jesus Jaimes Merlan was taken into custody on Thursday after a federal grand jury returned an indictment on July 21st.
According to a release from the U.S. Attorney’s Office, Merlan is accused of “willfully injuring or committing a depredation against property of the United States.” He is alleged to have caused over $1,000 in damage in the incident, which occurred May 11th.
If convicted, Merlan faces up to 10 years in prison and a possible $250,000 maximum fine.
The Federal Protection Service conducted the investigation with the assistance of the FBI, Houston Police Department and General Services Administration.
