DEPUTY FINDS NUMEROUS DRUGS DURING A TRAFFIC STOP

  

A Houston area man was taken into custody after a traffic stop last (Tuesday) night in Fayette County turned up numerous drugs.

Fayette County Sheriff’s Deputy Duane Meagher stopped a 1998 Volkswagon Beetle on Interstate 10 at Mile Marker 674 in the Schulenburg area for an equipment violation.

Meagher made contact with the driver, 41-year-old Thomas Joshua Isbell of Deer Park, and noticed a THC pen in plain view. Meagher said that he asked Isbell what was in the pen, and Isbell admitted to it being THC.

With the assistance of Schulenburg Police Officer Hailee Vincent, a probable cause search of the Volkswagon was conducted.

Found inside the vehicle were five grams of methamphetamines, four grams of mushrooms, nearly 13 ½ ounces of marijuana, more than 27 grams of THC wax, multiple THC pens including a bottle of THC oil, THC hash, multiple THC dabs, Alprazolam and Diazepam pills, along with numerous items of drug paraphernalia.

Isbell was taken into custody and transported to the Dan R. Beck Justice Center.

He has been charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance Group One greater than 4 grams but less than 200 grams, which is a second-degree felony, Possession of a Controlled Substance Group Two greater than 4 grams but less than 200 grams, which is also a second-degree felony, and Possession of Marijuana greater than 4 ounces but less than 5 pounds, which is a state-jail felony.
