HISTORIC PRESERVATION BOARD TO HEAR REQUEST FOR STORAGE CONTAINER AT FLOYD’S WINE LOUNGE

The Brenham Historic Preservation Board will hold its rescheduled meeting on Tuesday after its October 17th meeting was cancelled.

On the agenda for the board is a Certificate of Appropriateness application from Floyd’s Wine Lounge at 315 South Baylor Street.  The business is proposing to set a 20x8 shipping container on private property, next to the BNSF rail spur.

The container would only be used for dry goods and patio storage.  No electricity is needed for the container, which will use passive ventilation and either solar powered or battery lighting.  The double doors from the container will be removed and replaced with a 7x36 door.

In addition, the outside of the container would be painted to complement the wine lounge’s building colors, and a mural would be added to the side of the container facing the railroad tracks to the south.

Board members will also consider scheduling regular meeting dates and times.

The board will meet Tuesday at 5:30 p.m. at Brenham City Hall.
