MS-150 BIKE RIDE IS THIS WEEKEND

  

The MS -150 is a two-day, 150-mile fundraising cycling event benefiting the National Multiple Sclerosis Society.

The MS-150 runs today (Saturday) and tomorrow (Sunday) starting in Houston and finishing in College Station.

With over 15,000 bicyclists from all 50 states and 15 countries, the MS-150 is one of the largest fundraisers in the nation,

During the day today (Saturday), MS-150 contract workers will be delivering safety barriers, portable toilets, and temporary traffic signage to areas located along South Railroad Steet, Main Street, and Washington Avenue.

The road closures will begin in the Burton area before sunrise tomorrow (Sunday) morning.

MS-150 safety crews will determine when the roads will re-open for normal traffic.

There is a rest stop at Burton ISD along Main Street. The rest stop is for the riders coming from La Grange through either Carmine, Round Top, or the Greenvine area, and entering the city limits on South Railroad Street.

There is also a “Leap Ahead” site located on the field next to the American Legion Hall at the corner of Washington Avenue and Navasota Street.

Buses will leave La Grange at 8:30am, and deliver riders to their bikes at the American Legion Field.

The public is asked for their patience as the riders come through the area.
