BRENHAM MCJROTC PLACES THIRD AT NATIONALS

The Brenham High School Marine Corps Junior ROTC has finished third overall at nationals for the second year in a row.
Brenham’s Unarmed Drill Team competed on Wednesday at the National Championship in Fredericksburg, Virginia as one of a select few teams throughout the country to participate. This is the seventh straight year that the Brenham MCJROTC received an invitation to nationals.
In addition to the third place overall finish, the team placed first in Unarmed Regulation Drill and third in Inspection.

Ximena Cervantes received second place for Best Unarmed Commander. Lia Otero earned second place at the knockout drill against approximately 120 individual competitors from all schools invited to compete.
Amelia Bayse was awarded one of 1,200 NROTC scholarships given out nationwide. The scholarship pays all tuition, books, fees and a monthly stipend in pursuit of a four-year degree. She will also automatically receive the Patriot Scholarship, which will cover all remaining room and board at Texas A&M, where she will attend this fall as part of the Corps of Cadets.
