WASHINGTON WOMAN HOSPITALIZED AFTER MOTORCYCLE CRASH

  

A motorcyclist was flown to a hospital after being struck by a pickup truck Saturday night in Washington County.

The accident happened around 8:30 p.m. on Highway 105, between Brenham and Navasota.

According to DPS Sergeant Justin Ruiz, a Ford F-150 failed to yield the right of way when turning to a Harley Davidson motorcycle traveling southeast on Highway 105.

The driver of the motorcycle, 60-year-old Melanie Hewett-Deaeth of Washington, was life flighted to St. Joseph Hospital in Bryan with serious injuries.

The driver of the truck was not injured, but was cited for failing to yield right of way.

Investigation into the crash continues.
