DEAN FUCHS RUNNING FOR BURTON SCHOOL BOARD
Voters in Burton are choosing from four candidates to fill three seats on the Burton School Board.
One of the four on the ballot is Dean Fuchs. A member of the school board since November 2020, Fuchs was an educator for 28 years in Columbus, Boling and Katy. He currently serves as the manager of the Washington County Fair.
Fuchs believes he brings a “common-sense” approach to the board, grounded in practicality and realism while providing an educator’s perspective. He says while there are things that can stand to improve in Burton ISD, there are other places where the district excels.
Fuchs says the staff, community, parental involvement, relationships and tradition are very strong in the district, and feels the completion of the bond project will add an extra sense of pride.
In addition to making continued upgrades to school safety, Fuchs wants to ensure that staff members are not overwhelmed with too many responsibilities.
Early voting concludes on Tuesday. Election Day is Saturday, May 6th.
