FORMER BLINN BUCCANEER XAVIER HUTCHINSON DRAFTED TO THE NFL
Former Blinn Buccaneer Wide Receiver Xavier Hutchinson was drafted in the sixth round by the Houston Texans on Saturday afternoon.
Hutchinson was taken with the 28th pick in the sixth round.
Hutchinson, who has been with Iowa State, is a native of Jacksonville , Florida.
Hutchinson, a senior, led the nation with 107 receptions this past season and was seventh nationally with 1,171 yards. He had six touchdowns and posted 100 yards or more in seven of his 12 games this past fall.
Hutchinson's 107 catches set a new Iowa State single-season record, and he is also the Cyclone's career leader in receptions with 254.
The 6-foot-3, 205-pound pass catcher spent the 2018 and 2019 seasons at Blinn under head coach Ryan Mahon. Hutchinson amassed 62 catches for 958 yards and seven touchdowns with the Buccaneers.
