CLASSIC ROCK ‘N ROLL TO FILL DOWNTOWN BRENHAM FOR RETURN OF ‘HOT NIGHTS, COOL TUNES’

A month of sizzling summer music gets underway tomorrow (Saturday) in downtown Brenham.

“Hot Nights, Cool Tunes” opens its 19th season with a performance from Ashmore, a classic rock ‘n roll band out of Dallas playing the hits of legendary '60s through '80s bands like The Rolling Stones, AC/DC and Led Zeppelin.  The free concert begins at 7 p.m. at the corner of Alamo and Baylor Streets.

Visitors to downtown can enjoy food and drinks from local businesses and vendors while also taking in the sights at the Stray Katz Car Club’s classic car cruise-in at the west end of Alamo Street.

The concert is presented by the City of Brenham and sponsored by Citizens State Bank, Bluebonnet Electric Cooperative, Budweiser – Mike Hopkins Distributing and Woodson Lumber.

This year’s “Hot Nights, Cool Tunes” series features the new addition of performances from local musicians presented by Visit Brenham.  The Rob Moorman Band, playing a blend of classic tunes and original compositions, will play on the Alamo Alley stage from 5 to 6:30 p.m. and will also perform an acoustic set during Ashmore’s first intermission.

KTEX-106’s Trail Boss Troy and Eilish will introduce Ashmore on stage.

Below are some of the songs performed by Ashmore during its first appearance at “Hot Nights, Cool Tunes” in 2022:

Ashmore – “Voodoo Child” by Jimi Hendrix

Ashmore – “La Grange” by ZZ Top

Ashmore – “Stranglehold” by Ted Nugent

Ashmore – “Honky Tonk Women” by The Rolling Stones
