CLASSIC ROCK ‘N ROLL OF ASHMORE OPENS ‘HOT NIGHTS, COOL TUNES’
The long-awaited return of “Hot Nights, Cool Tunes” in downtown Brenham had crowds rocking in the streets.
Saturday night’s opening concert, which hosted the Dallas-based Ashmore, featured a wide catalog from some of the most iconic ‘60s thru ‘80s rock bands.
The Stray Katz Car Club’s popular car cruise-in lined Alamo Street with numerous classic vehicles and hot rods. Local businesses and vendors provided attendees with plenty of food and cold drinks.
This year’s concert series is adding a slate of music from local performers on the Alamo Alley stage prior to the start of the main concert. Saturday’s concert had entertainment from the Rob Moorman Band.
Ashmore’s performance was sponsored by Citizens State Bank, Bluebonnet Electric Cooperative, Budweiser – Mike Hopkins Distributing and Woodson Lumber.
Next up this Saturday, July 15th, will be the “Hot Nights, Cool Tunes” debut of Skyrocket, a cover band out of Austin with a large repertoire playing pop and rock from the ‘70s and ‘80s, along with more recent hits. The performance will be sponsored by Brenham National Bank, Seidel Schroeder, Dahmann and Associates and Must Be Heaven.
The local musician series on the Alamo Alley stage will host Jake Waylon, whose sound is influenced by Neil Young, Billy Joe Shaver and John Prine.
