RUN FOR THE YOUTH OF WASHINGTON CO. DONATES $77,500 TO BRENHAM ISD ATHLETICS

which were raised from the Blue Bell Fun Run, will
support Brenham ISD's athletic programs.
Brenham ISD’s athletic programs got a big boost on Monday.
Board members for Run for the Youth of Washington County presented the Brenham School Board on Monday with a donation of $77,500 for the benefit of junior high and high school athletics. The donation comes from proceeds of the 45th Annual Blue Bell Fun Run, which is held every year in the spring.
Michelle Zschech, treasurer for Run for the Youth of Washington County, said the Fun Run’s continued success is owed to the long-standing contributions of students and coaches that volunteer their time to support the event.
Zschech said around 4,300 runners competed in this year’s Fun Run, about a 20 percent increase from last year. Participants took part in a half-marathon, 10K, 5K and kids’ one-mile run.
Next year’s Blue Bell Fun Run is scheduled for March 23, 2024.
