BRENHAM PLANNING & ZONING OKs REZONING, SPECIFIC USE PERMIT REQUESTS
The Brenham Planning and Zoning Commission gave unanimous recommendation of approval for two items at its meeting on Monday.
The first item was presented by Eric Benitez, Matthew Gene Canatella and Kenneth Phillips regarding a 0.7544-acre property holding three lots addressed as 307, 309 and 401 Peabody Street. The property owners wished to rezone the lots from B-2 commercial research and technology use to B-1 mixed residential/business use. The lots currently hold an office building, single-family home and cabinet and paint business.
The second request came from Powerfam Washes, LLC, who asked for a specific use permit for its plans to develop a vacant 2-acre tract of land on the east side of the Highway 105 - Sabine Street intersection, zoned for B-1 mixed residential/business use. The applicant is looking to build an automatic car wash that would operate daily from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. and be attended by employees during business hours.
Both items will go before the city council for approval at a future meeting.
