KYLE KACAL TO SEEK RE-ELECTION TO TEXAS HOUSE DISTRICT 12

  

State Representative Kyle Kacal (R-Brazos County) has declared he will run for re-election next year to Texas House District 12.

Kacal was first elected in November 2012 and owns a large-scale cattle business and full-service hunting operation in Brazos County.  

Kacal said in a press release that the state has made strides in addressing critical needs, especially in rural areas, but more work needs to be done.  He said, “It’s important for the rural areas of our state to maintain a strong voice in the Texas House that speaks to our values and way of life.”

In his announcement, Kacal pointed to occasions of note from the 2023 Texas legislative session, including voting to secure over $1.4 billion in funding for school safety measures, provide a cost-of-living increase for retired teachers, increase the state’s contribution to local schools to reduce the burden on property taxpayers and local governments, allocate over $5 billion to border security operations and create an interstate compact for enforcement of the southern border.

Kacal also cited investments into rural water and broadband infrastructure, passage of the Texas Jobs and Security Act and helping to create a constitutional amendment to be voted on this November that specifies that Texans have the right to farming, ranching, lumber and timber production and horticultural business.

Kacal could not be reached by KWHI for an interview to discuss his candidacy.

House District 12 covers Washington, Grimes, Madison, Robertson and Walker counties, along with a portion of Brazos County.
