QUEEN OF THE HOLY ROSARY PARISH IN HOSTYN TO HOLD FESTIVAL SUNDAY
The Queen of the Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Hostyn is holding a festival this weekend.
The festival, celebrating the 192nd anniversary of the first mass celebrated in Hostyn, will take place on Sunday at the church grounds, located at 936 FM 2436, six miles south of La Grange off Highway 77.
Activities begin with an outdoor mass at 10 a.m. A fried chicken and sausage meal with all the trimmings will be served starting at 11 a.m., via dine-in and drive-thru. Tickets are $14. Hamburgers will be served after 3 p.m.
An auction will be held at 1 p.m., followed by bingo at 1:30 p.m. There will also be a country store, drawings, cake and plant wheels, a silent auction and games.
Music will be provided throughout the day, including the Czech Melody Masters from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. and the Dujka Brothers from 3:30 to 7:30 p.m. A magic show will be performed at 3 p.m.
